Student accuses minister of ‘not knowing’ Kannada

Benagluru: Minister of primary education and secondary education Madhu Bangrappa has been accused of ‘not knowing’ Kannada language by a student during the launch of state government’s free online coaching programme.
Student identified as Bharath during the virtual interaction said, “Education minister does not know Kannada.” A visibly upset minister replied, “Hey Bharath, am I speaking to you in Urdu?”
The minister turned to the officials seated alongside him and said, “I cannot keep quiet after listening to this,” and added, “Find out, who is he?” He also asked the officials to record the student’s words, while adding “This is stupid. The student should be ashamed (for his words).”
He directed the officials to view the matter “seriously” and initiate action against the student.

The BJP slammed the minister for initiating action against the student and advised him to accept constructive criticism either from media persons or students.
