Tech Consultant, Wife, and Two Kids Found Dead in Bengaluru Home
Bengaluru: A couple allegedly administered poison to their two minor children before they took the drastic step to end their lives by hanging at their residence in RMV second stage in Bengaluru city on Monday.
The horrific incident came to light when domestic help visited the house on Monday morning and informed the jurisdictional police about the deaths. Police identified the deceased as Anup (38), his wife Rakhi (35) and their daughter Anuppriya and Anush.
It is suspected the couple would have poisoned their children first before they hanged themselves, as per preliminary investigations by Sadashivanagar police. Anup belonged to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh and had moved to Bengaluru city where he worked as a software consultant.
Police suspected Anup was under financial stress owing to losses and under pressure over financial problems, he might have taken the extreme step to end his life along with his family members. But, domestic helpers told the police Anup's financial condition was good.
It is also said that Anupriya suffered from a major health ailment and concerned over his daughter’s health, Anup and his wife were under depression might have taken the extreme step.
Anup had three domestic help at his house and two of them were cooks while the other attended the ailing daughter. The domestic helpers received a monthly salary of Rs 15,000 each.
They told the police that Anup was seen visibly happy on Sunday night and he had asked his domestic helpers to help them in packaging. Anup had plans to visit Puducherry on Monday at around 11 am.
DCP Shekar said police did not come across any suicide note from Anup. Police will be able to ascertain the exact cause for the family take drastic step only after kith and kin of Anup arrive in Bengaluru.
Police sent the bodies to a hospital for autopsy. A case has been registered at Sadashivanagar police station. Investigations are on.
