Two children, aged seven and three were strangled to death by one of their parents in Karnataka on Friday.

In a tragic incident in Bengaluru, two children, aged seven and three, were allegedly strangled to death by one of their parents, police reported on Friday. The crime took place in the Subramanyapura area, and both parents, originally from Jharkhand, are under investigation as they blame each other for the murders.

The children, Shubam (7) and Sia (3), were reportedly killed with a rope. Their mother, hospitalized with a neck injury, claims innocence and accuses her husband, an auto driver, of the crime. The father, however, alleges his wife was responsible, citing frustration and depression from marital disputes.

DCP South Division Lokesh Jagalasar stated that the incident occurred between 7 pm and 9:30 pm on Thursday, with the father reporting it after taking the children and their mother to the hospital around 10:30 p.m. Preliminary findings indicate the mother was at the scene, while CCTV footage shows the father arriving later.

“We are examining technical evidence to confirm who was present during the crime. Relatives and neighbors have also spoken about ongoing marital conflicts,” said the DCP.

The couple had moved to Bengaluru two months ago. The mother remains under medical care, though her condition is not critical. Police continue to investigate the case from all angles to determine the truth.
