Woman Attempts Suicide with Four Children in Karnataka's Vijayapura

Vijayapura: A woman attempted suicide along with her four children by plunging into a canal, reportedly due to a family dispute on Monday. While the bodies of two children have been recovered, search is on for two others.

The incident occurred near Benal village, about 60 km from the district headquarters Vijayapura.

According to police officials Bhagyashri Ningraj Bhanjantri, a 26-year-old woman from Telagi village, attempted suicide.

Bhagyashri was rescued by locals. The bodies of two of her children, Tanushri (5) and Suraksha (3), were recovered from the canal. A search operation is underway by the police and fire and safety department for her twin boys, Hasen and Husen, both 13 months old.
