Cochin-London Air India flight Receives Bomb Threat

Kochi: An Air India flight bound for London received a bomb threat, causing panic at the Cochin International Airport.
The bomb threat was reported to Air India call centre in Mumbai for the flight AI-149. The flight was scheduled to fly from Cochin to London Gatwick.
Following the bomb threat, a thorough security was conducted by the Airport Security Group (ASG-CISF), airline security personnel and inline baggage screening system.
The call was made by Suhaib (29), a native of Kondotty Malappuram, who was scheduled to travel to London on AI-149, news agency ANI reported.
Suhaib, along with his wife and daughter, was intercepted by ASG at Cochin Airport's international departure terminal during check-in and later he was handed over to the police for further investigation and legal action, officials said.
The aircraft was thoroughly checked and was cleared for takeoff. The check-in for AI 149 was completed by 10:30 am.
