Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has sought a report from Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on the phone tapping allegations made by ruling front MLA P V Anvar against ADGP Law and Order M R Ajith Kumar.

In a letter to the chief minister, the Raj Bhavan has also called for an investigation into the allegations against the ADGP. Anvar had previously accused Ajith Kumar of tapping the phone calls of ministers and journalists

The governor described the allegations of ministers' phones being tapped as grave and requested the chief minister to take action on the matter and keep him informed. The allegations suggest that the phone tapping was conducted under the guise of Maoist surveillance within the state.

Furthermore, Khan demanded action against Anvar, who confessed to tapping the phones of police officers, an act in contravention of Supreme Court directives.

It should be remembered that Anvar has consistently leveled phone tapping allegations against the chief minister's political secretary, P Sasi, and ADGP M R Ajith Kumar. In addition to the claims of telephone tapping involving ministers, politicians, and media personnel, the MLA has made serious accusations against the ADGP, including collusion with gold smuggling gangs and involvement in murder cases.

As a result, the government initiated a comprehensive investigation by the Special Investigation Team, headed by the Director General of Police, into the accusations made against the Additional Director General of Police.
