Thiruvananthapuram: A day following the ruling LDF MLA P V Anvar's startling revelations against ADGP (Law and Order) M R Ajith Kumar and some other police officers, accusing them of engaging in criminal activities, he met with the chief minister to brief him on the charges against the officers.

After the meeting, he informed the media that all matters had been communicated to the Chief Minister. A written account has also been provided. He expressed his hope for a fair investigation and mentioned his plans to meet with CPM state secretary M V Govindan to also submit a memorandum.

"I assumed responsibility as a comrade. My duty concludes at this point. I shall cooperate with the investigative authorities," he stated.

The Home Department has formed a special investigation team led by DGP Shaikh Darvesh Sahib to investigate the allegations against the ADGP. Notably, all other officers on the team are of a lower rank than the ADGP, which has caused a stir in various circles.

When questioned about the possibility of a fair investigation with Ajith Kumar remaining as the ADGP of law and order, Anvar stated that removing him from the position was not his responsibility.

The Nilambur MLA, who had previously likened Ajith Kumar to "Dawood Ibrahim," appeared significantly subdued after he met with the chief minister. It is believed that Pinarayi advised the legislator to refrain from making public statements on the matter.

Anvar alleged that a section of the police officers had tarnished the reputation of the police force, and this issue had been brought to the government's attention. "As a comrade, I have fulfilled my duty. Now, it is the government's turn to act," he told the mediapersons.

The MLA had also made serious allegations against the Chief Minister's political secretary, P Sasi, the other day accusing him of supporting police officers involved in various criminal activities. However, when asked if he had discussed the political secretary's conduct with the Chief Minister, the MLA preferred to remain tight-lipped.

Anwar has repeatedly made serious allegations against Ajith Kumar during his interactions with the media over the past few days. The MLA has accused the ADGP of phone tapping, associating with gold smuggling gangs, and links in murder cases.

Ajith Kumar has responded to the allegations by writing a letter to the Chief Minister and the DGP, requesting a detailed investigation into the charges levelled against him.

Meanwhile, opposition leader V D Satheeshan reiterated the demand for a CBI probe into allegations levelled by the LDF MLA.
