The incident happened on Wednesday and came to light on Friday. Going into details, people were working in the agriculture field belonging to a farmer, identified as Challa Malla Reddy in Narsaipally Villiage in Siddipet. When the workers were leveling the field they had found a beautifully carved rock box. On opening the box they found silver coins and a few rings inside it.
After discovering the treasure, the worker had fled from the site along with it without informing anyone. The police, after receiving information from other workers, had visited her residence and recovered the treasure.
Noted archaeological enthusiasts who had the chance to look at the coins had confirmed that the coins date back to the reign of Aurangzeb, the sixth Mughal emperor and found that each coin weighs around 11 and half grams.
