Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has proposed to meet his Telangana counterpart A. Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad on July 6 to discuss issues concerning the AP Reorganisation Act and others. The meeting will take place in Hyderabad.

Naidu, who will be in New Delhi on July 4 and 5, will reach Hyderabad on the same evening and meet his counterpart on Saturday evening. Though the meeting place was not fixed yet, sources said Naidu was not averse to meet Revanth Reddy at the latter's residence or a neutral venue like Dr MCR HRD Institute in Jubilee Hills may also be considered.

In a letter addressed to the Telangana Chief Minister on Monday, Naidu stated that as the Chief Ministers of Telugu-speaking states, it was incumbent upon them to foster a close collaboration to ensure sustained progress and prosperity for both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He further stated that their shared commitment for cooperative development would be crucial to realise their mutual goals of growth and well-being.

Naidu said, “It has been 10 years since bifurcation of the composite Andhra Pradesh. There have been multiple discussions concerning issues arising out of the AP Reorganisation Act, which will hold significant implications for the welfare and advancement of our state. It is imperative that we address these issues amicably with utmost diligence and resolve. In light of this, I propose that we meet at your place on July 6, afternoon.”

He said, “I firmly believe that a face-to-face meeting will provide us with an opportunity to engage comprehensively on these critical issues and collaborate effectively towards achieving mutually beneficial solutions for AP and Telangana. I am confident that our deliberations will lead to productive outcomes.”
