Hyderabad: After three postponements, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for post-graduate MD and MS seats was finally conducted on Sunday. Over two lakh students across India appeared for the exam that was held in two shifts.

In Hyderabad, the exam was conducted in eight centres. Many of those who appeared in the first shift from 9am to 12:30pm, said that the exam was rather lengthy and different from previous years. “The exam was concept-based and most of the portion was from the syllabus. However, it was a bit lengthy and to some it might seem a bit difficult,” said Pushparaj, an aspirant.

The second shift was conducted from 3pm to 7pm.

The National Board of Education for Medical Sciences had postponed the exam three times this year—March, June and a night before the scheduled date on July 23, which was due to reports of irregularities in the conduct of NEET UG 2024.

Some students approached the Supreme Court seeking further postponement to allow students reach their respective exam centres in time. However, the apex court refused to entertain the plea.
