Vijayawada: Minister for medical education Satya Kumar Yadav, described the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 as a boon for the student and teaching fraternity, paving the way for a golden future for students in the country.

He said the new education policy, introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to develop the creative potential of each individual and promote education for all.

Yadav participated as the chief guest at the two-day national seminar on the “Implementation and Challenges of NEP 2020 in HEIs,” organised by Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM) at the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) in Vijayawada on Saturday.

Addressing the seminar, the minister said that the NEP 2020 provides skill training to students while they are studying, thus enabling them to become self-employable while pursuing their education. “Economic development of any country is possible only with educational development, and to realise this, an education system with Indian values is needed,” Satya Kumar Yadav said.

The minister further stated that the new NEP 2020 policy will benefit future generations, as students will have higher chances of getting jobs with increased technical and practical knowledge, alongside theoretical knowledge.

He noted that the first and foremost challenge in the implementation of the new NEP 2020 is getting state governments to accept and implement the policy in their education systems. SPA Director Professor Srikonda Ramesh, ABSRM Joint Secretary Guntha Laxman, and others were present.
