Chennai: The uproar over Union Home Minister Amit Shah denigrating the architect of Indian Constitution B R Ambedkar in Parliament continued to rage all over the State with the DMK and VCK cadre organizing protests in various places and raising angry slogans against the BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shah.

In Chennai the DMK protest was spearheaded by party organization secretary R S Bharathi, while the TNCC also held a demonstration at Anna Salai. TNCC chief K Selvaperunthogai said that protests will be held by Congress workers all over the State.

Selvaperunthagai said Ambedkar had given protection to 140 crore Indians through the Constitution that he had framed.

State Law Minister S Regupathy, however, used the occasion to take on the AIADMK by putting out a message on X accusing general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami of going into a deep slumber for not criticizing Amit Shah or Modi when most of the parties were slamming him for derogating Ambedkar.

Wondering if Palaniswami knew who Ambedkar was, Regupathy pointed out that the AIADMK leader had been silent on a plethora of controversial issues including the One Nation One Election Bill that was supporting. Also the Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly did not say anything on the High Court judge who demeaned Muslims.
