Murugesan committee submits reports on education policy
The Justice (retired) D Murugesan Committee submitted its report on the State Education Policy to Chief Minister M K Stalin with its other members including noted Carnatic singer T M Krishna, Tamil writer S Ramakrishnan and Prof Rama Seenuvan taking part in the event at the Secretariat on Monday.
Among the other members of the committee, set up on the basis of an announcement made in the State Budget for 2021-22 to formulate an education policy exclusive to the State, were educationalists and experts like Professor Sultan Ahmed Ismail, Aruna Rathnam, Jaishree Damodaran, Thulasidasan, R Balu, Freeda Gnanarani and Palani.
The committee was mandated to prepare the policy by taking into account the State’s historic traditions, present situation and future goals with former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court Murugesan heading it.
