Tamil Nadu to Experience Late Monsoon Rains Across State

Chennai: Tamil Nadu is gearing up for refreshing rainfall as a low-pressure system brings showers across the state on December 26 and 27. According to the Tamil Nadu Weatherman, the weather system, which is expected to dissipate today, will result in moderate rainfall in both coastal and interior districts.
"Chennai has seen rare Christmas Day rains in 2001, 2003, 2022, and now 2024. Over the past 25 years, this is only the fourth time we’ve had rain on Christmas," the Weatherman shared on X. He predicted enjoyable rains for Chennai and the Kancheepuram-Tiruvallur-Chengalpattu (KTCC) region today and tomorrow.

North coastal districts, including Pondicherry, Cuddalore, and Villupuram, are also set to receive moderate rainfall, while interior regions such as Coimbatore, Erode, Nilgiris, Dindigul, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Ranipet, Trichy, Sivaganga, and Namakkal are expected to join in with scattered showers.
As this could be one of the final rain spells of the monsoon, the Tamil Nadu Weatherman urged residents to cherish the showers, especially with drier months ahead.
