Chennai: The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) has been officially recognized as a state party by the Election Commission of India (ECI), announced party chief Thol Thirumavalavan on Saturday.
Thirumavalavan shared a copy of the ECI's letter, dated January 10, 2025, on social media platform X, confirming the recognition and allocation of the 'pot' symbol for the party in Tamil Nadu.

The ECI's review of VCK's performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections concluded that the party met the criteria for state party recognition. The 'pot' symbol was reserved following a formal request by the VCK in June 2024.
