She pointed out the contradiction between Kanimozhi’s remarks and ground realities, noting, "Is walking through knee-deep water while claiming there is no rain damage a way to mislead the people under the guise of the Dravidian model?"
Tamilisai further criticized Kanimozhi for allegedly dismissing the visible hardships faced by the people due to the rains and questioned her assessment of the damage. "While people are suffering due to rain and floods, how can you claim there is no damage? What, in your view, is the scale of rain and flood damage?"
The BJP leader also took a dig at the DMK’s approach, alleging that they demand substantial funds in Parliament even before official teams assess the extent of the damage. The remarks have sparked a heated political exchange, with supporters and critics from both parties weighing in on the issue.
The floods in Thoothukudi have caused widespread disruption, with media reports highlighting the struggles of affected residents. Tamilisai’s remarks underline the political tensions surrounding relief efforts and accountability in the region.
