TVK Founder Vijay Calls for Exclusive Website for Sexual Crime Complaints
Chennai: Expressing deep concern over an increase in crimes against women and children in the State, founder president of the Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), Vijay, urged the government to launch an exclusive website for registering complaints relating to sexual crimes against women and children as recommended by the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court.
Stressing on the need to ensure the safety and protection of women and children in the State, Vijay, in a message on X on the occasion of International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on Monday, said regular reports on violence against women were raising concerns.
The State government, with the help of the judiciary, should address the problem and initiate measures with an iron hand to put an end it, he said and recalled the High Court recommending the exclusive website to register complaint of sexual violence against women and children as an solution to the growing problem.
Vijay, however, expressed happiness that women’s development at the global level had improved and was giving hope even as women’s safety and security had become a question mark.
