Vijay’s Party Advances Unveiling of Flag
Chennai: Actor Vijay’s party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam, would unveil its flag on August 23 at an event in Chennai without waiting for the grand conference, for which honchos of the party are still scouting for the venue, and popularize it among the supporters even before his film, GOAT (Greatest of All Time) hits the screens on September 5.
Though the original plan was to unveil the flag at the conference that would be held after the release of the film, supposed to be the last one of Vijay, now the strategy has been changed to make a splash with the flags at the conference as participants would all be arriving at the venue holding the flag aloft and also flying them on their vehicles.
In the meantime, the brief trailer of GOAT that was released on Saturday had dialogues like ‘Elder brother is coming, give way’ and ‘You can’t stop me.’ The otherwise typical Vijay film replete with fight sequences and action packaged scenes, it is believed that Vijay has infused a political flavor into the narration by adding dialogues with political connotations.
Though Vijay comes as the usual swashbuckling hero (in a dual role?) taking on villains, his name in the film is ‘Gandhi’ as a character says in the trailer: ‘You might have seen people playing the role of Gandhi but have you seen Gandhi playing a role?’
Vijay, who should be straddling two worlds now – preparing for the release of the film and also for the launch of the party – is expected to turn a full-time politician once GOAT hits the screens, sources said, adding that as of now it is the finalization of the venue for the conference that had become a major task as the party office-bearers were unable to identify the right place.
