Task Force Cracks Down on Illegal Liquor Sales in Twin Cities

Hyderabad: Sleuths of the commissioner’s task force conducted simultaneous raids on belt shops and bar establishments in twin cities and then found serving liquor in the early morning and seized 48 litres of liquor worth Rs 1.06 lakh.The teams raided belt shops in Banjara Hills, Borabanda and Chikkadapally police station limits.

During the raids three persons were arrested 48 litres of liquor worth Rs 1,06,000 were seized from their possession.

The arrested were identified as Chittuluri Srinivas, 48, in Indiranagar, Banjara Hills,

V. Narasimha, 55, of Vinayaknagar, Borabanda, and M. Mallesh, 34, a barattender and resident of Sai Krishna Nagar Colony, Ramanthapur Hyderabad.

During interrogation the arrested revealed that they were purchasing liquor from local liquor shops and simultaneously selling it at higher prices during night time after closing of Wine/Bar Shops, illegally profiting from these transactions, Sadhana Rashmi Perumal, DCP task force stated in a press release on Saturday.

The restaurant & bar styled as Blue Heavens in the limits of Musheerabad police station was functioning till the early hours, around 6.30 hours, serving liquor to needy customers before permitted time by violating the rules and regulations of the excise department.

The accused persons have been handed over to the concerned police stations for further legal action, Rashim stated.
