Telangana: 12 Inspectors Transferred
Hyderabad: Hyderabad police commissioner K. Sreenivasa Reddy on Sunday transferred 12 inspectors working at the Hyderabad Commissioner's Central Crime Station (CCS). These inspectors have been directed to report to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) - 2 with immediate effect.
Those who were transferred were Siva Gouni Shiva Shankar, Raghu Babu K, Appala Naidu Meesala, Bukya Rajesh, Seetha Ramulu, Hussain Dheravath, G Satyam, Nageshwar Reddy C, Dharawath Krishna, K Satyanarayana, S A Emmanuel and B Kranthi Kumar.
These transfers came in the wake of the arrest of an Economic Offences Wing (EOW) inspector's arrest at CCS by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on June 13. The arrested inspector, Chamakuri Sudhakar, was caught demanding a bribe of Rs.5 lakh and accepting Rs.3 lakh from a complainant. Reports indicated that Sudhakar had initially demanded Rs15 lakh and had already received Rs 5 lakh as an advance.
Sudhakar has been arrested, and a case has been registered. The ACB is currently investigating the matter. They have obtained details of 32 cases that Inspector Sudhakar had investigated. The specific case leading to his arrest involved a cheating complaint filed by C.V.S Satya Prasad against Mani Ranga Swamy Ayyar, a consultant.
