Telangana: Cropping Area Likely to Increase this Season

Hyderabad: Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Tuesday expressed hope that crops will be sown in a wider area as the state has received good rainfall this season.

Addressing the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC), he said, “Bank officials should give clear instructions to the branch managers to correct the mistakes in the loan accounts. I seek your full cooperation in fulfilling this mission by acting responsibly."

He reminded that the meeting of bankers, which is held once in three months, should be used to remove statistical mistakes. It should be seen that the benefits reach the ultimate consumers, that is the downtrodden and targeted sections of people, the minister said.

He said the loan waiver was implemented despite the state's difficult financial situation.
