Hyderabad: Following a Supreme Court ruling allowing states to classify SC reservations, minister Damodar Rajanarsimha chaired a meeting of Madiga sub-castes at Plaza Hotel on Wednesday. He announced the Chief Minister's support for sub-classification and proposed forming a committee with legal and community experts to review current classification systems for Telangana.

Rajanarsimha stressed the need for equal opportunities in education and employment based on population size and highlighted that the Supreme Court's decision does not require classification but permits it. He suggested providing loans with 50 per cent subsidies to economically uplift underserved communities and emphasised the need for cultural and principled adherence for societal betterment.
