10 injured in mad dog attack in Narsampet

Warangal:  At least 10 people were injured in a mad dog attack here under Narsampet municipality in Warangal district on Tuesday.

When some people went to consume toddy at Sitarampuram area, the dog suddenly came out of a bush and started attacking them. Some people ran to escape from the dog while some others tried to beat it.
Around 10 people were injured in dog attack. Some of the injured were rushed to the area hospital at Narsampet town while others who were seriously injured were shifted to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) hospital at Hanamkonda.
Letter received on phones creates stir in police circles of Warangal
A letter allegedly written by one ‘Akasha Ramanna’ warning personnel of Warangal police commissionerate created a stir here on Tuesday.
The letter cited certain incidents including circle inspector Ravi Kumar’s allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl under Kazipet police station limits.
The letter was received two days back on the mobile phones of some police officers. Some officials deleted the letter, sources said.
The letter said police officials of 2004 batch indulged in massive irregularities and raised `50 crore by buying postings of their choice.
The letter asked the police higher-ups to probe into the matter. It said they must conduct a thorough inquiry and collect details of the postings that were done in past eight years.
The letter cited another incident in which circle inspector Sampath Kumar allegedly sexually assaulted a woman and her daughter under Kakatiya police station limits a few months back. Both the CIs are facing Pocso cases.
Officials of the special branch and intelligence department started an inquiry into the letter and trying to trace the sender.
Woman-daughter duo dies of suffocation due to short circuit
Karimnagar:  A wonan and her daughter died of suffocation following a fire reportedly caused by a short circuit burnt a few items in their house, late on Monday night at Rambagar in Rathanpur of Ramgiri mandal in Peddapalli district. Their pet dog also died in the incident.
Locals identified the victims as Kalvala Pochamma, 65 and her daughter Gaddam Komuramma, 45. Komuramma's husband, Kanakaiah, worked at a bar in the mandal headquarters. The fire apparently started with the air cooler.
When Kanakaiah reached the house at midnight, he noticed smoke coming out of his house and alerted the neighbours.


HYDRAA staff trained at Traffic Training Centre, to assist traffic police

Hyderabad: To assist the traffic police, 50 staff of the Hyderabsad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency’s (HYDRAA) DRF are being trained with traffic regulation skills at the Traffic Training Centre in Goshamahal. They will work under the title of HYDRAA traffic volunteers and will be deployed at important intersections and congested areas.
HYDRAA officials said that the volunteers will wear radium jackets and will help traffic personnel when there are no natural calamities like rains or floods.
