Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday arrested Syed Khaleelullah alias Khaleel, an Administrative Officer and Damalla Sudhakar, a Junior Assistant of Government Medical College (GMC) in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, when they allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs.7 lakh and accepted of Rs.3 lakh as initial payment from a complainant for showing official favour.

They demanded bribe to prepare salary bills for outsourcing employees and to reinstate the 23 outsourcing employees supplied by the complainant, who was removed from the Government Medical College, Bhadradri Kothagudem, at Palvancha. Both Khaleel and Sudhakar performed their duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage, ACB officials said.

The bribe amount was recovered from the office table of Khaleel and his right hand fingers and the contact portion of the left side of the office table which came into contact with the tainted bribe amount yielded a positive result in the chemical test.

The ACB officials produced them before the special court for ACB cases in Warangal after which the court remanded them to judicial custody.
