9 injured after bus overturns in Nalgonda

Nalgonda: Nine people were injured when a private bus from the city bound for Chennai overturned at the Marriguda bypass on the outskirts of Nalgonda on Sunday.
The accident occurred at 1 am when the driver of the bus, operated by Orange Travels, lost control of the vehicle. The injured, most of them suffering from fractures or cuts and bruises, were taken to the Government General Hospital in Nalgonda for treatment.
The injured were identified as Y. Swetha, K. Vasanthu, A. Aranya, and Sk. Afzal from Chennai; K. Sandhya Rani, P. Rajeshwar Reddy, M. Kavitha, and K. Shanti Shivani from Hyderabad; and P. Amarnadu from Nandyal. Upon receiving a tip-off, the police rushed to the scene and rescued the passengers. About 25 people were travelling on the bus at the time of the accident.
Sources said the other passengers went to the local bus stand and most of them returned to Hyderabad while the others took buses onward to their destinations.
