2023 accident accused acquitted
Hyderabad:One phone call shattered the world of Sitha. On January 1, 2023, she received a call from the police and heard the devastating news that her husband Srinu had died in an accident. “My life has never been the same since then,” she exclaimed. She has been caught in a series of tragic events, culminating in an unexpected legal outcome. She asserted that she would lay the entire burden on God.
Her response comes following the acquittal judgment by the City Court, after which the three accused walked out free. The court said there was no substantial evidence. The failure of city police is evident in the acquittal. The court found the accused not guilty as the police had failed to produce crucial evidence.
It can be recalled that two people died in a road mishap on January 1, 2023, in front of Royal Tiffins at Road No. 3 in Banjara Hills. The accident took place during the early hours of New Year's Day and the victims were identified as A. Srinu and Eshwari. Police identified that K. Pranav Kiran, who was behind the wheel, knocked them down and caused their death. Kiran was accompanied by Mohammad Nabi and P. Srivardhan. Pranav along with friends got intoxicated during the New Year celebrations and the incident took place while they were returning home.
Reportedly, he drove the car rashly, negligently and everything changed in a snap. The deceased’s wife A. Sitha said there was no hope left after the death of her husband. Recalling the unfortunate day, Sitha shared, “It was like any normal day for me. And all of a sudden, I received a call from the Banjara Hills police. I was already in shock because it was a call from the police and then they revealed the death of my husband and the other woman named Eshwari.”She further said, “The court could have acquitted them, I believe in God, he will punish those who caused this situation.”
Meanwhile, a police source rejected a version that one of the constables turned hostile. He insisted that it never happened. “The team will further review the case, go through a detailed study of the accident and see through the lapses,” he said. Meanwhile, the police may approach the upper court for further proceedings.
