6 OUJAC students get bail in Allu Arjun’s house vandalism case
Hyderabad: Half a dozen students’ of Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OUJAC), who vandalized the residence of film actor Allu Arjun in Jubilee Hills on Sunday evening, got bail on furnishing personal surety on Monday morning.
The Hyderabad police booked a case against the students and arrested them for vandalizing the actor’s residence. Raising slogans and holding placards, the students entered the actor’s residents by climbing the compound and resorted to vandalism.
The incident happened around 4:45 pm, when some started sloganeering outside the residence of the actor, whose recently released movie Pushpa-2 turned into a major blockbuster across the country. The students damaged some flower pots along the ramp.
Upon receiving the information, the Jubilee Hills police reached the place and took the students into custody. The police then produced them before the residence of the judge in Vanasthalipuram on Monday. The judge then granted them bail on furnishing a personal surety.
Following the incident, the police tightened the security at the actor’s residence. A police picket was also posted at the residence and placed barricades to prevent any untoward incidents.
The OU students were demonstrating peacefully. When the police force attacked them they acted in their self-defence. Police filed a case against them. After their appearance before the judge, the students got bail without any conditions and a fine, according to students’ advocates.
