ACB Arrests Thorrur Cop for Accepting Rs.2 Lakh Bribe

Warangal: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Monday arrested circle inspector Karri Jagadish of Thorrur town in Mahbubabad district for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.2 lakh to perform an official favour.

According to ACB sources, CI Jagadish demanded Rs.4 lakh from the complainant to instruct the Danthalapally SI not to arrest him in a case (Cr. No. 132/2024), refrain from issuing a 35(3) BNSS notice, and ensure no future harassment. The accused initially accepted Rs.2 lakh as part of the bribe and demanded the remaining amount.

The complainant, whose identity is withheld for security reasons, reported the matter to ACB officials. Acting on their instructions, the complainant handed over the money to the CI, who was caught red-handed by the ACB team.
