Nizamabad: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials seized properties worth of Rs 6.07 crore including Rs 2.93 crore from the house of Nizamabad municipal corporation superintendent Dasari Narender on Friday. ACB officials conducted simultaneous raids at residences of the accused and relatives in Nizamabad and Nirmal towns.

Narender worked as in-charge revenue officer and earned ill-gotten wealth by corrupt practices. The officials also found Rs 1.10 crore bank balance in the name of Narender’s wife and mother.

ACB officials seized the documents of 17 immovable properties worth Rs 1.98 crore and 51 tolas of gold. ACB officials arrested Dasari Narender and produced him before the special judge SPE & ACB in Hyderabad. Further investigation of the disproportionate assets case is on. Dasari Narender is the first government employee in undivided Nizamabad district caught with huge cash.

Initially, Narender worked as personal assistant to the first mayor of Nizamabad municipal corporation Dharmapuri Sanjay. During his stint, Narender allegedly was involved in irregularities and Sanjay removed him from the post and he was repatriated to municipal office work. For last 10 years, he has been working in the revenue wing of the municipal corporation.

Using his political contacts with businessmen and other influential people in Nizamabad city, Narender amassed wealth with corrupt practices. He guided key elected representative in BRS government in earning money from different sources.

His luxurious lifestyle in Nizamabad and high-end vacations in other states surprised his colleagues and others. In this context, ACB got a series of complaints against Dasari Narender over his disproportionate assets.
