ACB to Grill AEE Nikesh Kumar for 4th Day
Hyderabad: Officials from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), probing the irrigation department’s AEE Herur Nikesh Kumar's alleged assets case, for the third consecutive day questioned him in police custody in connection with his alleged benami activities following the court directions at the ACB office. The questioning will continue on Sunday.
ACB officials found that some properties were registered on the names of his friends and relatives and Kumar closely monitored such activities.
A team of officials reportedly put the seized documents of immovable properties before him and asked him about the sources of income to purchase massive properties, including farmhouses, flats, open plots and commercial buildings in Narsingi, Rangareddy district, and other places.
The officials recorded the statements of the accused officer during the questioning in police custody. He was also questioned about issuing NOCs to businessmen and individuals at buffer zones and FTL areas. The ACB is likely to serve notices to benamis of the accused officer for questioning.
