Warangal: Officials from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Sunday apprehended a divisional engineer (DE) of the Northern Power Distribution Corporation Limited (NPDCL) while accepting a bribe of `20,000 from a farmer in Jangaon district.

Maloth Hussain, the DE at the electricity department in Station Ghanpur, had demanded the bribe from farmer Kumbam Yellaiah in exchange for shifting a 33 KV power line that was passing through his field.

Acting on a complaint filed by Yellaiah, ACB officials laid a trap. When Hussain was caught red-handed accepting the bribe, the ACB team moved in to arrest him.
