Hyderabad: Air Marshal P.K. Vohra, Senior Air Staff Officer of the Western Air Command, urged senior defence officers to continually update their knowledge to meet the evolving challenges in national security.

He was speaking at the valedictory function marking the conclusion of the 39th Senior Officers’ Study Period (SOSP) at the College of Air Warfare (CAW) in Secunderabad on Friday. The two-week programme, held from August 16, brought together 21 senior officers of the rank of Air Commodore of the IAF and their equivalent from the Army and the Navy.

The SOSP provided a crucial platform for in-depth discussions on various aspects of national security. Participants engaged with lectures and discussions led by experts, covering a wide range of topics from global threats to strategic defence initiatives, according to a statement. The course was designed to equip the officers with fresh insights into contemporary geopolitical and military issues essential for the nation’s defence strategy.

The programme not only enhanced the officers' understanding of current security concerns but also fostered camaraderie and mutual learning among the services, vital for the cohesive functioning of the armed forces.
