Hyderabad:Aishwarya Vidya Raghunath enthralled music lovers with her mellifluous rendition at the 57th annual festival of music, dance and drama of Kalasagaram.

She started with Swathi Thirnal’s ‘Sumasayaka’ in Karnataka Kapi with ragamalika swaras followed by the Thyagaraja krithi ‘Tulasi Dalamulache’ in Mayamalavagowla raga with crisp kalpana swaras. Before a beautiful Varali raga alapana, she sang the ‘Sanatana Parama Pavana’ of Thyagaraja in Raga Phalamanjari. She chose Karuna Judavamma of Shyama Sastry for the sub-main, which was well presented.

Ranganath sang a rare Veghavahini krithi of Deekshithar Veena Pustaka as a filler. The main piece for the day was a grand Balagopala in Bairavi where she did neraval (improvisation) in ‘maniyamagudakara’ followed by an elaborate kalpana swaras which was ably supported by Arun Prakash on Mridangam and Chandrakanth on Ghatam.

The experienced Shriram Kumar on the violin showed his mastery in Varali and Bhairavi. Ranganath concluded her concert with a Thirupughazh, ‘Koorvel’ in Madhyamavathi.
