Bhadradri: Preparations are in full swing for the Yeru (river) festival, set to take place from January 9 to 10, alongside Vaikunta Ekadashi celebrations at the Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Temple in Bhadrachalam. District collector Jitesh V. Patel reviewed the arrangements during a meeting with officials at the RDO office.

The festival will celebrate the unique culture and traditions of the Godavari, Kinnerasani, and Taliperu river regions in the Bhadradri-Kothagudem district. Events will be held at 10 designated locations, showcasing tribal art forms on a special stage at the Godavari river ghat. A boating point will also be set up, and visitors can stay in camping tents near festival sites.

Fifty stalls will be installed at the bund area, offering organic, tribal, and forest products for display and sale. Trekking facilities will be available at Bendalapadu and Bojjikuppa, and boating will allow visitors to explore islands along the Kinnerasani river. Tribal cuisine will also be featured at the festival stalls. The Yeru festival will conclude on January 11.

Collector Patel also confirmed arrangements for the Uttara Dwara Darshan at the Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Temple on Vaikunta Ekadashi, observed on January 10, ensuring a seamless experience for devotees.
