Hyderabad: Tollywood actor Allu Arjun on Wednesday requested the Telangana High Court to quash the FIR registered against him at Chikkadpally police station related to the stampede at the Sandhya Theatre, which reported one death.

The actor's lawyer told the Court that the production house of the film had intimated the arrival of the actor to the theatre and the assistant commissioner of police to avoid any untoward incident.

The counsel contended that the presence of senior police officials like DCP and ACP is a sign of the preemptive arrangements made for crowd control and that any act by the actor did not result in the incident.

The counsel further contended that the FIR against the actor lacks the required ingredients to prove the allegations against him and that his mere presence on sight does not prove them.

Hence, the counsel requested the Court to quash the FIR against the actor and grant a stay of all further proceedings including the arrest of the actor.
