The inspection uncovered severe hygiene violations at the chicken market, including a foul odor, unsanitary conditions, and the presence of rats.

The APC Chicken Market in Isamiya Bazaar, New Moti Nagar, was sealed on Friday following a surprise inspection by Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, accompanied by MLC Venkat Balmoor and GHMC officials.

The inspection revealed severe hygiene violations, including a foul odor, unsanitary conditions, and reports of contaminated and substandard meat being sold. Rats were also spotted at the market, raising serious health concerns.

Expressing anger at the operators, the Mayor warned against selling unhygienic non-vegetarian products and emphasized the public health risks involved. She directed the Zonal Commissioner to immediately shut down the market and instructed the Medical Officer to clean and disinfect the area in coordination with entomology and sanitation teams.

The GHMC reiterated its commitment to ensuring hygiene standards in public spaces and warned of strict action against violators.
