Bandi asks cops to arrest man for extorting money in his name
Sanjay expressed shock over a fraudster misusing his name and instructed party members to arrest the individual and hand him over to the police
KARIMNAGAR: Union minister of state for home affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Sunday instructed the police to nab a man who impersonated a member of the ‘Bandi Sanjay Team’ and extorted money from people under the guise of issuing labour licences, Ayushman Bharat, and LPG cylinders in Karimnagar district.
Several local women approached the MP, alleging that they were cheated by Akula Ramu, a resident of Kapuwada, who claimed to be a close associate of the MP. He collected money from them, promising to help sanction central schemes and issue labour licenses to them.
Sanjay expressed shock over a fraudster misusing his name and instructed party members to arrest the individual and hand him over to the police. He stated that all Central government schemes are available online and warned people not to trust individuals who act as middlemen to exploit them.
Later, Bandi Sanjay praised party members for achieving significant milestones in the membership drive, with Karimnagar district leading the way.
Against the target of 37.67 lakh members, the party members enrolled around 30 lakh members. Among the districts, Karimnagar emerged as the top performer by enlisting over 2 lakh members, while Bhupalpally and Mulugu districts lagged behind.
