Bandi Demands Aarogyasri, Fee Reimbursement Dues
Hyderabad: Union minister of state Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Thursday wrote an open letter to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy demanding the payment of dues of the Aarogyasri scheme to hospitals and fee reimbursement dues of the colleges. He alleged that the Congress government was ignoring the education and healthcare sectors.
The minister described the Congress government's approach to implementing Aarogyasri and fee reimbursement schemes as contradictory. “The Congress announced an increase in Aarogyasri's limit to Rs 10 lakh and an expansion of healthcare services. But, it has been not clearing pending bills which have accumulated to over Rs 1,000 crore, making healthcare services under Aarogyasri inaccessible to the public,” he said.
"The dues of fee reimbursement, including those of the earlier BRS government, have now crossed over Rs 7,000 crore. The college management openly declaring that students would not receive certificates unless dues were paid. The government’s negligence has put the future of lakhs of students at risk," Sanjay said.
He announced that Telangana BJP would launch an agitation if the government failed to clear dues of Aarogyasri and fee reimbursement schemes.
