Telangana seeks dues of Rs 408 Cr from Centre
Meeting Sitharama in Delhi on Saturday, Bhatti sought release of funds under special grants for the backward districts as per the AP Reorganisation Act 2014;
Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka urged Union finance minister Nirmala Sitaraman to release funds that were due to states across sectors. He also handed over letters written from time to time by the state government in this regard and urged her to expedite reimbursement of Rs 408.48 crore to the Telangana government.
Meeting Sitharama in Delhi on Saturday, Bhatti sought release of funds under special grants for the backward districts as per the AP Reorganisation Act 2014. He also pointed out the anomalies in getting the state’s share in several centrally sponsored schemes for 2014-15. The state is yet to get Rs 208.24 crore.
He called for Centre’s intervention regarding the amounts that are due from AP Power Finance Corporation towards excess liability allocated to Telangana Power Finance Corporation. He wanted the Centre to restructure the debt.
Special chief secretary for finance Ramakrishna Rao, resident commissioner in Delhi Gaurav Uppal and MPs Mallu Ravi, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Balaram Nayak and others accompanied the Deputy Chief Minister.
