BJP announces Malka Komariah, Anji Reddy and Sarottham Reddy as candidates for MLC polls
Hyderabad: Telangana BJP here on Friday declared the names of three candidates including renowned educationist Malka Komariah and industrialist C Anji Reddy for the ensuing MLC elections in the State.
Following instructions from BJP All India president Jagat Prakash Nadda, Telangana BJP State president and Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy released the list of three candidates for the MLC elections.
The party announced the name of Komariah from Peddapally for MLC Teachers’ Constituency - Karimnagar-NizamabadAdilabad-Medak, C Anji Reddy from Sangareddy for MLC Graduates’ Constituency - Karimnagar-NizamabadAdilabad-Medak and Puli Sarottham Reddy of Warangal for MLC Teachers’ Constituency - Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam.
Komaraiah hails from Peddpally in the Karimnagar district. He completed his B.E. from Osmania University. Subsequently, he established schools and has done significant work in promoting quality education at the school level. He established educational institutions in Peddapally, Nirmal and Hyderabad. Currently, he is the Chairman of Pallavi Group of Institutions Hyderabad.
As an academic administrator and an educator, he has made immense contributions towards enhancing quality education. Further, with his vast experience in the domain, he has a vision for the promotion of educational architecture in Telangana.
Anji Reddy, who is a BA Maths graduate, hails from Ramchandrapuram in Medak district. He has been an entrepreneur with investments in diverse areas. He has been associated with the nationalist ideology right from childhood. His wife Godavari Anji Reddy is presently the president of the BJP Sangareddy district.
Anji Reddy runs SR trust for last two decades. SR trust has been actively working for providing drinking water in the villages in addition to enhancing education opportunities for the poor.
Sarottham Reddy hailing from Warangal served as a school assistant for over 21 years and as a headmaster for over 10 years. He was general secretary of PRTU from 2012 to 2019. He was very active in the separate Telangana agitation as part of Teachers’ JAC. As a teacher and as an activist, he has done exemplary service for the resolution of long-pending teachers’ issues.
