BJP Vote Share Better Than That of Congress: Etala
Says party will form next govt in Telangana
Hyderabad: Predicting that the BJP would form the next government in Telangana, Malkajgiri MP-elect Etala Rajendar on Wednesday said that the BJP's vote share has more than doubled in the state from 15 per cent in the Assembly elections to 35 per cent in the Lok Sabha elections.
However, the Congress vote share had neither gone up nor could it make any impact on the Lok Sabha results, he said.
"Though the Congress influenced the voters with money and liquor, there was no damage to the BJP's vote share. I express my gratitude to the people of Malkajgiri constituency for rallying behind me," Rajendar said.
He contended that Telangana people had elected eight BJP candidates who have vast experience, including Nagesh (Adilabad), Dharmapuri Arvind (Nizamabad), Bandi Sanjay Kumar (Karimnagar), M. Raghunandan Rao (Medak), G. Kishan Reddy, D.K. Aruna and Konda Vishweshwar Reddy. They can bring more funds to Telangana from the Centre, he said.
The BJP will continue to fight against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy demanded that he fulfill all promises made during the elections, including payment of Rs 2,500 to women, houses for the poor, Rs 4,000 stipends for youth and an Rs two lakh loan waiver for farmers.
"No one except Jawaharlal Nehru has been elected as the Prime Minister for a third term. Narendra Modi is set to join the rare league. We need 272 seats to form the government at the Centre and we have 296 seats from the NDA alliance,” he said.
Rajendar said that the BJP would give priority to the distribution of houses to the poor, the completion of rural roads, national highways, bringing new industries and providing job opportunities and setting up infrastructure facilities in Telangana.
