BRS files cases in Supreme Court over turncoat MLAs

Hyderabad: The BRS party on Thursday took its battle with the Congress government over 10 of its MLAs defecting to Congress party to the Supreme Court filing two petitions.

While a writ petition was filed seeking directions on seven of its MLAs, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Kale Yadaiah, Sanjay Kumar, Krishnamohan Reddy, Mahipal Reddy, Prakash Goud, and Arekapudi Gandhi, a special leave petition was filed on behalf of the party seeking directions with respect to the defection from BRS to Congress of Danam Nagender, Tellam Venkatrao, and Kadiyam Srihari.
The petitions were filed after senior BRS leader T Harish Rao, who went to New Delhi on Wednesday evening, held final discussions with a legal team and decided to proceed with filing of the SLP and the writ petition.
