Hyderabad: Wednesday’s earthquake near Medaram in Mulugu district, while creating some panic among people, also came in handy for the BRS which used the event to mock Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for “not keeping his promise to the Gods on farm loan waiver.”

Several BRS leaders, as well as the party itself, took to social media to declare that the Medaram earthquake was a sign from the Gods that they were not taking kindly to the Chief Minister for not keeping his promise.

“The Gods are angry at the Chief Minister,” the social media posts went, adding that Revanth Reddy, by not keeping his promise made at temples during electioneering, was bringing the wrath of the Almighty on the state.

To this end, the social media posts recalled how sudden floods in Khammam, the falling of 50,000 trees in the forest in Mulugu district where Medaram village and the famous Sammakka-Saralamma temple is located, and Wednesday’s quake were all signs of nature punishing the state because the Chief Minister has not kept his vows taken at various temples that he would implement the farm loan waiver, and other promises to the people.
