BRS to petition Ambedkar statues for Lagcharla peopleBRS to petition Ambedkar statues for Lagcharla people The opposition BRS called on its leaders and workers on Monday to submit representations to the statues of Dr B.R. Ambedkar across the state with the demand to release all the people arrested following the Lagcharla incident immediately and unconditionally.

This call was given after the party MLAs and MLCs raised slogans in the Assembly and Legislative Council demanding that their adjournment motion for a discussion on the Lagcharla incident should be taken up by the Houses, setting aside all listed business for the day.
Meanwhile, party working president K.T. Rama Rao said the BRS submitted a privilege motion against Deputy Chief Minister and finance minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for presenting “misleading data” on Telangana’s debt. "The government debt is being inflated to ₹7 lakh crore, contrary to a Reserve Bank of India’s report, which put the state's debt at ₹3.89 lakh crore. The finance minister’s statements misled the assembly and people of Telangana,” Rama Rao alleged.
“Instead of discussing the Lagcharla incident, the government wants a discussion on tourism. The only tourism that has happened in the state is ‘Delhi and jail tourism’ - that of Congress leaders heading in droves to Delhi to meet their party high command and people ending up in prisons for speaking up against the government,” Rama Rao criticised.
In the Assembly and Council, the BRS legislators held placards on the Lagcharla incident and raised slogans against the government. As both the Houses were adjourned for the day, they continued their protests outside the Assembly and Council halls in the Legislature premises for some time.
