Hyderabad: In a huge fillip for Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s initiatives to promote artificial intelligence (AI), the Centre has identified Telangana as the AI capital partner for the India Mobile Congress (IMC) in Delhi. It has also invited the Chief Minister to deliver the keynote address.

The IMC is scheduled to be held from October 15 to 18 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The Chief Minister’s address has been slated for October, 17

Over the years, IMC has become one of the world’s leading events in the telecom sector and digital technologies. The event, which is being jointly organised by the department of telecommunications (DoT) and Cellular Operator Association of India (COAI), will have delegates from various start-ups and IT companies apart from ministers from 45 countries.

The DoT has also asked Telangana to showcase the Centre’s flagship initiative – Bharatnet — project in addition to highlighting how Telangana is emerging as AI capital in the country.

In his invitation to the Chief Minister, Union communications minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said: “Your government may consider to put-up a stall at IMC to showcase strides made by Telangana in providing the citizen centric digital services and enabling digital connectivity. I take this opportunity to invite you to grace IMC 2024 and deliver a keynote address.”

Speaking exclusively to Deccan Chronicle from New Delhi, T-Fibre managing director Venu Prasad Panneeru said the event would also provide an ideal platform for Telangana to attract investments especially in AI. Following instructions from industries and IT minister D. Sridhar Babu, a team led by Venu Prasad Panneeru gave a detailed presentation to officials in New Delhi on Thursday.

Reflecting its theme, The Future is Now, IMC-2024 will showcase latest technologies to enable digital connectivity and use cases for the benefit of citizens.
