Hyderabad: A 23-year-old man accidentally fell off the third floor of a hotel while appearing to play with a dog on Monday night, Chandanagar police said. Chandanagar circle inspector D. Palavelli said the deceased was identified as Uday, 23, a native of Andhra Pradesh, working in the city as a private employee.

Uday had gone to a hotel in Chandanagar with his friends for a birthday party. According to the police, Uday was walking in the corridor when he saw a dog walking towards him. In images from the hotel’s CCTV cameras, he is seen chasing the dog.

The dog is seen running away from him, and turns right in the corridor. Uday followed, and apparently slipped and fell off the window which was adjacent to the corridor. The window did not have bars, and the glass door was open.

Uday’s friends are seen spotting him immediately and rushing to the ground floor. However, Uday succumbed to his injuries. The body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital mortuary for postmortem. Police informed that a case was registered and further investigation is underway.
