Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised libraries as hubs of creativity and spoke highly about Hyderabad-based Food4Thought Foundation, which has been working on building libraries, taking its co-founder by surprise.

“Today, many experiments are being done regarding children’s education. The endeavour is to instil more creativity and more love for books among children,” said Narendra Modi during his 116th Mann Ki Baat on Sunday.

“It is said that books are a man’s best friend, and now to make this friendship stronger, what could be a better place than a library,” he added.

As part of this, Modi shared a few examples of notable libraries which included Hyderabad’s Food4Thought.

“Hyderabad’s Food4Thought Foundation has also built remarkable libraries. They also aim to provide books so that children get authentic information on several topics,” Modi stated.

Asked about the Prime Minister’s mentio, Madhavi, one of the co-founders of Food4Thought Foundation, told Deccan Chronicle, “On behalf of Food4Thought Foundation, we are extremely grateful to the Prime Minister for appreciating our works and sharing it with the fellow citizens of India through Mann Ki Baat “.

She said no one had contacted her before the Prime Minister made a mention of Food4Thought. She said she had not met the Prime Minister before.

“This progress was made possible with the help of many supporters who contributed in various ways. Some donated books, others volunteered their time and some provided financial support to set up and maintain libraries. The foundation is determined to expand its work even further. Our goal is to create and manage libraries in every village in India,” she added.
