CM to lay stones for various works at Vemulawada on Nov. 20
Ponnam Prabhakar stated that the Chief Minister is expected to lay foundation stones for various developmental works at the temple after offering prayers to the presiding deities
KARIMNAGAR: At the time of its formation, Telangana was a revenue-surplus state. However, the BRS government, during its 10-year tenure, pushed the state into debts amounting to around ₹7.5 lakh crore, alleged backward class welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar.
In contrast, the minister highlighted that the Congress government had successfully implemented various welfare schemes for the people without selling even an inch of government land. He added that the Praja Palana government, which is about to complete one year, will soon announce the Indiramma housing scheme for the poor.
On Saturday, accompanied by Government Chief Whip Aadi Srinivas and district collector Sandeep Kumar Jha, the minister inspected the arrangements for Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s visit to the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada, Rajanna Sircilla district, scheduled for November 20.
Ponnam Prabhakar stated that the Chief Minister is expected to lay foundation stones for various developmental works at the temple after offering prayers to the presiding deities. He is also likely to chair a review meeting on the development of the temple town and the district's textile industry.
The government is reportedly seeking legal advice regarding the establishment of a trust for the Vemulawada temple. However, this may not be feasible due to the existence of a separate Vemulawada Temple Development Authority board.
The minister further noted that on November 19, the Chief Minister will launch the first anniversary celebrations of the Praja Palana government by participating in the ‘Mahila Sadassu’ event in Warangal district, followed by his visit to Vemulawada on November 20.
Later, accompanied by Choppadandi MLA Medipally Satyam, the minister visited the Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple in Kondagattu and offered prayers.
Regarding the comprehensive caste survey, the minister assured that no names would be removed from existing welfare schemes and that beneficiaries would not face any issues in the future. He added that the government plans to analyse the survey results to design new welfare initiatives for the public.
