Congress Government Hired 53,310 People in One Year
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy-led Congress government would set a unique record of filling 53,310 vacancies across various departments within a year of coming to power, with the distribution of appointment letters to 8,143 successful candidates in the TGPSC Group-4 recruitment exams scheduled for the next week.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in public sector recruitment, with the highest number of positions filled in the police department, followed by the school education department.
The Congress government conducted recruitment drives throughout the year, pausing only during the period between March and June for the model code of conduct was in force for the Lok Sabha elections. It became the first government in Telangana to introduce an annual job calendar, enabling aspirants to plan and prepare effectively.
“This government is committed to uplifting Telangana’s youth. We have delivered on our promise of large-scale employment opportunities, setting a benchmark for the entire country,” said Revanth Reddy.
Upon assuming office in December 2023, the Congress government initiated significant reforms in the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) to align it with the UPSC model. The government took steps to clear backlogs in conducting examinations and announcing results that had been delayed under the previous BRS administration.
The government also relaxed age limits for recruitment, acknowledging the decade-long gap in employment opportunities. Cancelled and postponed results were expedited, and appointment letters were promptly distributed.
Highlights of the year include the successful completion of Mega DSC 2024 filling 11,062 teacher posts in government schools within 10 months. Appointment letters issued to 8,304 candidates for teaching jobs in residential institutions. In the police department 16,067 constable posts were filled, clearing long-standing backlogs.
In the healthcare sector 6,956 staff nurses recruited, with additional posts currently in process.
The Congress government rectified issues plaguing Group 1 examinations, which were marred by paper leaks under the previous BRS regime. A new notification for 563 posts was issued, and the exams were conducted successfully. Group 3 and Group 4 recruitment processes were streamlined, ensuring timely results.
The recruitment drives have had a transformative impact on the lives of Telangana's unemployed youth, offering them stable and secure employment after years of uncertainty.
