Congress govt doing nothing for Telangana women: Bandi
HYDERABAD: Union minister of state for home Bandi Sanjay on Wednesday opined that the AICC is filled with fake news peddlers. Women from Telangana did not any financial support from the Congress government, which, instead of their empowerment, is concentrating on demolition of house, targeting vegetable vendors and forcing pregnant women onto the streets.
Taking to X, he questioned the Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate's claim that the state government was giving Rs 2,500 each to women. This isn’t governance but organized cruelty against women, he said.
He posted “Under Congress’s one year disastrous rule in Telangana rape cases skyrocketed by a disgraceful 28.94 percent, women’s murders rose by 13 percent, their blood is on Congress’s hands. Kidnappings and abductions surged by 26 percent —where is the safety they promised? Outraging women’s modesty increased by 8 percent even basic dignity is under attack. Over 10,000 women faced harassment in public places under Congress’s rule. Is this their vision of “empowerment (sic)?”
Congress has become a party of predators, destroyers, and liars. Telangana women deserve respect, safety and support—not tears, fear and betrayal. This is the ugly, rotten face of Congress, he said.
Meanwhile, the minister visited the Bahadurpura residence of Nanduraj, a Dalit activist, who was injured in the recent attack on the BJP state office.
Later speaking to the media, Sanjay said, “Congress leaders in the state are resorting to violence. Despite attacking BJP workers with iron rods, stones, eggs, and sticks in broad daylight, the police remained mere spectators, which is a shameful reality. This incident clearly shows that the Congress government is encouraging such attacks as it is unable to tolerate our party’s continuous exposure of its corruption and misdeeds.”
He added, “Our workers' silence should not be mistaken for weakness. If our workers decide, Gandhi Bhavan will be devoid of its foundations. We will continue to expose the failures of the state government and fight until justice is delivered to the people.”
